Set against the striking backdrop of Lake Tekapo, The Huts offer a refined yet simple getaway experience—rooted in the beauty of the land and inspired by the humble shepherd’s hut. NKLA was proud to lead the concept design, site layout and landscape planning for this special project. Our approach focused on embracing the unique topography, curating view shafts, and crafting an understated, natural landscape that sits lightly on the land. Local materials, minimalist plantings and carefully placed hut orientations ensure that each unit feels private yet connected to the wider setting—celebrating the alpine character of Tekapo and offering a place of stillness, light, and shelter.
